Questions

What people ask before they hire us

Before you call

Are you a notario?

No. We are lawyers, licensed to practice law. A notario público in the United States is not a lawyer and can't give legal advice. Never pay someone to prepare your case unless they are a lawyer or an accredited representative.

Do I need papers to hire a lawyer?

No. You do not need status or a passport to talk to a lawyer. You do need to tell us the truth, so we can protect you.

Do you take every kind of case?

We take green cards, DACA and work permits, immigration court and work visas. For anything else we say so and point you to someone who can help.

Fees and time

How much does it cost?

It depends on the case, and we do not guess on the phone. After the first meeting you get a written fee, what it includes and which government fees are separate.

Do I pay the government separately?

Yes. Filing fees go to the agency, not to us. We list them in your fee agreement so nothing is a surprise.

Can I pay in installments?

Ask us. Many families pay in parts, and we put the schedule in writing.

How long will my case take?

It depends on the agency's backlog, which changes. We give you a realistic range, not a promise, and we update you when it moves.

Privacy and safety

Will immigration find out if I call you?

No. What you tell a lawyer is confidential. We don't contact the government about you unless you hire us and we agree it is the right step.

Is it safe to text you my details?

Texting is fine for scheduling and the basics. Keep your full story, your A-number and your documents for a call or a visit.

What if I'm afraid to go out?

Tell us. We can talk by phone or video, and we will explain how to prepare for appointments so you can stay safe.

Still wondering?

Call or text. A real person answers, in English or Spanish.
